Restaurant Website Design — Dos Tacos

Food Service · Houston, TX

A concept website refresh built for Dos Tacos, an authentic taqueria in Katy, TX with a 4.9-star rating and over 1,000 Google reviews. Rather than pitching a single direction, the build ships four complete hero concepts at once — Taco Cannon, Build-A-Taco, Loteria, and Color Block — switchable live from the home page so the owners can experience each one and pick a direction instead of judging it from a static mockup.

Challenge

A neighborhood taqueria had built genuine local reputation — 1,020 five-star Google reviews, a loyal Katy following, and one of the better vegan menus in the area — but none of it showed up online. The harder problem was the pitch itself: restaurant owners rarely respond to a flat mockup, and picking a creative direction from a PDF asks them to imagine motion, texture, and personality that isn't on the page.

Solution

Designed and built a full multi-page site in Next.js 16 with four entirely distinct hero concepts shipped simultaneously, switchable in real time from a floating control on the home page with the choice persisted to localStorage. Each hero is a genuine design direction — kinetic type with parallax ingredients, a taco that assembles itself as you scroll, a vintage mercado poster with animated papel picado, and hover-expanding color panels. The rest of the site turns the restaurant's real assets into conversion: a browsable menu with the full lineup, verbatim Google reviews as social proof, a dedicated vegan section, a catering inquiry form, and a location block with hours and directions.

Results

  • Four complete hero directions shipped in one build — owners switch live and choose, no imagination required
  • 1,020 five-star Google reviews turned into on-page social proof instead of an off-site number
  • Full menu browser, dedicated vegan section, and catering inquiry flow
  • Built on Next.js 16 and React 19 with Tailwind v4 and Motion-driven animation throughout
  • Location, hours, and directions surfaced for local search intent
  • Per-page SEO metadata with generated sitemap and robots configuration
